User Involvement

The system has been tested out in the homes of four stroke patients in Sheffield to see how patients use the system and to consider its acceptability. The movie clips below show one of the users who tried the system in his home for three weeks. The first two clips show him carrying out a practice drinking task. His own movement is displayed on the laptop screen in real time as he practices each movement.

The next clip shows him viewing his own movement as it is played back on the screen next to a target movement of an unaffected arm.

He is able to view this display from different angles including side view and 'birds eye' view from the top. He can access these different views using the arrow buttons on the screen.

He can also view graphical analysis of the movements. Each movement is represented by an individual bar on the bar chart on the screen.

For further information about how the user interacts with the system see the user manual.
