Equal research network

The EPSRC EQUAL (Extend Quality Life) initiative provided funding for the SMART project.

The Codamotion system has been used in the tracking and characterisation of arm movements for the project, and have provided expert advice regarding 3D biomechanics, hosted project meetings and carried out extensive analysis of data, as well as developing and providing software tools for use by project team members.

Stroke Association

National charity solely concerned with combating stroke in people of all ages. It funds research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation, and helps stroke patients and their families directly through its community services.

SMART 2

Self Management supported by Assistive Rehabilitation and Telecare Technologies. An EPSRC EQUAL consortia researching self management systems for chronic pain, stroke and congestive heart failure.

TARGET

Technology Assisted Rehabilitation Giving Enhanced Therapy. This work is a continuation of the SMART 1 system in conjunction with Philips Research Europe.
